Kathern Eggert Castle age 88 of Whitwell, passed away Saturday, January 06, 2018.  She was preceded in death by her parents, George & Ethel Eggert; brothers, H.B., George Jr., James, Howard, Jimmy, & Luther Eggert; sisters, Annie Bone, Eller Mears, Maude Rollins; daughter-in-law, Shirley Castle.  Mrs. Castle was a member of Whitwell Church of God. Mrs. Castle filled many roles during her lifetime as a devoted wife, mother & grandmother.  She and her husband owned and operated Castles Midget Grocery.  In her later years enjoyed working at Whitwell Memorial Funeral Home assisting on funeral services.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband of 71 years, Joe J. Castle; children, Mike (Patricia) Castle, Danny Castle, & David (Audrey) Castle; sister, Reva Kilgore; brother, Billy Eggert all of Whitwell; grandchildren, Mike Castle II, Chonne Castle Stoker, Jody Castle, Jason Castle, Jonathan Castle, Angie Castle; great grandchildren, Lauren Blevins, Garrett Castle, Bella Castle, Ethan Castle, Gavin Castle; great great granddaughter, Willow Blevins; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Family will receive friends 2-8PM, Tuesday, January 9, 2018.

Funeral services will be 1PM, Wednesday, January 10, 2018 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Michael Shrum and Rev. Allen Griffith officiating.  Interment at Whitwell Memorial Cemetery.

Family would like to thank Amedysis Hospice with special thanks to Wilma Billingsley for all your loving support and care during Mrs. Castle’s illness.

I am so very sorry to hear about the going home of Katherine. She was one of the most loving and kindest people anyone could every have met.She always had time to stop and Chat for awhile no matter what she was doing. My Condolences to Joe and all the family.May God let His Light and Love Shine Upon you and Comfort you now and in the days to come. R.I.P. SWEET Katherine.
