Richard E. Davis

Richard Edward Davis age 84 of Whitwell passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for over 50 years and served different congregations in South Dakota, North Dakota, and Tennessee. He enjoyed the time spent with his spiritual brothers and sisters because they are loving and always showed a self- sacrificing spirit. He worked 10 years for C & I Engineering in Louisville, KY and South America, 10 years for Stears Rogers R & D Coal Gasification, North and South Dakota and finally 22 years for Dakota Gasification Company, Beulah ND in startup and operating the only gasification plant in the U.S.A. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Edward and Virginia Davis.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 85 years, Gloria Terry Davis of Whitwell; child, Mary Markowski of Hagen, Germany; brother, Wesley Davis of Whitwell; sister, Elizabeth Cobble of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Ellen Markowski of Hagen, Germany, Alex Markowski of Vallendar Germany, and Peter Markowski of Vienna Austria.
