In a peaceful transition Friday, May 10, 2019, Lamar “BaBa” Ridge, 71 years of age, inherited a new address. He moved from Burnett Road of Whitwell to the Streets of Gold, Heaven. It has been a short goodbye, but he will leave an everlasting legacy of being the “Medicine Man” as he spent his life bringing joy to his friends and family. His sense of humor will be sorely missed by all who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bobby, Gene, Hoyt and Jerry Ridge; nephew, Michael Ridge.

Lamar was born in Whitwell, TN to John Hugh Ridge and Edna Griffith Ridge August 30, 1947. He was one of seven boys and has one sister. Lamar was a lifelong, avid fan of the UT Vols. He was a member of First Baptist Church Whitwell, retired from Tennessee Department of Transportation and presently employed by Marion County Dept of Sanitation.

He loved his nieces and nephews and cherished time spent with them, they will serve as honorary pallbearers. Pallbearers are Robby Ridge, Lynn Ridge, David Sharpe, Dwight Minter, Lloyd “Buck” Carson, Billy Wayne Rogers, Shannon Andregg and Roger Dale Grayson.
