Mary Atterton Obituary

Mary Ellen Dempsey Atterton age 85 of Whitwell passed away Thursday, January 17, 2018. She retired from Whitwell Sports Wear and a lifetime member of Whitwell Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Atterton; parents, Rev. Allen & Leona Dempsey; brother, Edley Dempsey; sisters, Lorene Payne; twin sister, Helen Morrison.

Those left to cherish her memories are her sisters, Carolyn (Gene) Mickel of Whitwell; grandchildren, Preston McCurry & Cullen McNeece; several nieces, nephews and cousins; A special thank you to NHC Dunlap, Hospice of Chattanooga and all who helped with her care and friends.

Family will receive friends 1PM-8PM, CDT, Saturday, January 19, 2019.

Funeral Service 2PM, Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Whitwell Church of God with

Rev. Michael Shrum and Rev. John Yeoman officiating. Interment to follow at Red Hill Cemetery.
