On Tuesday, November 6, 2018, Richard Ernest Barnett, “Tennessee” went to be with the Lord at the age of 87 in Melbourne, Florida. Richard was born on February 23, 1931 in Whitwell, Tennessee to Thelma and Ernest Barnett. On June 22, 1950, he married Joyce Holland, and they raised three children, Judy, Ricky and April. He is survived by his sister Sue (Willard)Arp; daughters, Judy (Rex) Carter, April Emen, daughter-in-law, Janet Barnett; grandchildren, Chris (Michelle) Carter, Melissa Barnett, Ryan Emen, Kyle (Jordan)Barnett and Cody Emen; great grandchildren, Gavin and Cameron Carter, Ansley, Carter and Emma-Kate Sullivan and Joshua Chambers. Close family friend, Steve Bass and loyal companion Precious.

He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce H. Barnett; second love and wife, Joyce L. Barnett; parents, Thelma Register & Ernest Barnett; son, Ricky Barnett; granddaughter, Jennifer Sullivan.

Family will receive friends 1PM-3PM, Saturday, November 10, 2018.

Funeral Service 3PM, Saturday, November 10, 2018 in the funeral home chapel.
Interment to follow at Whitwell Memorial Cemetery.

Richard may have gone by many names, Richard, Tennessee, Dad, Brother-in-Law, Papa and Poppy Richard, but each person he encountered was precious to him.
