SAMMY LEE MEARS

Sammy Lee Mears age 83 of Whitwell, passed away Friday, November 8, 2019 at his son’s home in Illinois.  Mr. Mears was a United States Army Veteran.  He was preceded in death by parents, Albert & Estella Mears; brother, David Mears.

Those left to cherish his memories are three children, Sammy (Laura Shelley) Mears, Jr of Spring Grove, Illinois, Tina (Dan)Beyer of Sycamore, Illinois, Mellanie (Billy) Thompson of Spring Grove, Illinois; five sisters, Doris White of Whitwell, Martha Ridge, Pauletta Caldwell of Jasper, Jackie Jackson of Whitwell, Betty (Jack) Perkins of Union Grove, Alabama; brothers, Jim (Cathy) Mears, Albert (Teresa) Mears Jr. of Whitwell, Bobby (Sharon) Mears of Graysville, TN; six grandchildren, Joshua Mears, Joseph Mears, Lillian Thompson, Sara Beyer, Jenna Beyer, Landon Thompson; Linda Mears; several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends 4-8PM, Saturday, November 23, 2019.

Funeral service will be 2PM, Sunday, November 24, 2019 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Roy Terry officiating.  Interment at Whitwell Memorial Cemetery.  Military honors provided by Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard.
