Ruth M. Smith age 97 of Evensville, TN, passed away March 22, 2018.  Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, George Preston Smith; mother and father, Claudia and Standifer Kilgore; brothers, James (Buddy) Kilgore, Joe Kilgore; sisters, Bessie Wallace, Lois Isabelle, Anna Sue Harvey, Nannie Grant; granddaughter, Lynn Scott; two grandsons, Troy King, Jimmy Parker; great-grandson, Derrick Jacobs.  Mrs. Smith attended The Galilean Church in Hixson, TN.

She is survived by her eight children; sons, Rev. William E. (Joann) Smith of Gruetli; Donnie E. (Ethel) Smith of Sparta, Charles R. (Kathy) Smith of Powell’s Crossroads; daughters, Nina (Walt) Smigiel of Ooltewah, Margaret (James) Parker of Ringgold, Ga, Wanda (Marvin) King of South Pittsburg, Claudia Faye (Ralph) Schmook of Evensville, Melanie (Ray) Goins of Chattanooga; many grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Ruby Pursley of Dunlap, Marie Williams of Knoxville.

Family will receive friends 10-2PM, CST, Saturday, March 24, 2018 with funeral services to follow at 2PM, CST, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Joe Sneed of The Galileon Church and Rev. Jerry Merciers officiating.  Interment at Griffith Cemetery, Whitwell.

Aunt Ruth was a Wonderful Woman,she was always so kind and loving,she had one of the Prettiest Smiles I had ever seen,her eyes always sparkled when she smiled she love the Lord and showed it,she loved her Family,we will all miss Aunt Ruth but she is now with Uncle Press and others that have passed on to Heaven and there is one more Angel to watch over us.She's singing in Heavens choir.
