Alfred " David " Long

Alfred "David" Long, age 80, of Whitwell, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025. David was a published author and retired from Vulcan Materials Company. He was a faithful attendant of Red Hill Community Church.

Those left to cherish his memories are his son, Jeffery David Long and wife Reneé; his ex-wife, Brenda Long; grandchildren, Nikki and Tré Daniel, Nathan and Shonie Long; and great-grandchildren, Makayla Daniel, Makenzie Daniel, Hayley Long, and Alexis Long, all of Whitwell.

David loved spending time outdoors, whether hunting, fishing, or simply enjoying the beauty of nature. He cherished feeding the fish with his great-grandchildren, a pastime that brought joy to their hearts. David had a knack for working with his hands and could often be found fabricating unique projects or tinkering with something around the house. He found happiness in the simple things and leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, creativity, and the written word.
