Betty Doris (Carson) McCurry

Betty Doris Carson McCurry age 92 of Whitwell passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was a member of Layne’s Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Porter O. McCurry; her parents, Estela and Arthur Carson; siblings, Thoralee Jackson, Gladys Griffith, Erma Miller, Dorothy Shirley, Willie Carson, Eddie Carson, James Carson, Bill Carson, Pope Carson and Lloyd Carson.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Trudy (Darrel) Elmore, Sandra (Glen) Cox, Kay (Jerry) Smith, Patsy Ross and Renee Morrison all of Whitwell; grandchildren, Tish (Bobby) Grayson, Tash Ross, Billy (Kim) Cox, Johnny (Bo) Cox, Eddie Rector, Sherry (Michael) Ramsey, Bridgett (Josh) Blevins, Kyle Grayson, Austin (Colby) Grayson and Kara (Craig) Kilgore; great grandchildren, Rielly (Katie) Grayson, Ally (Seth) McClain, Garrett Cox, Abigail Cox, Cassie Cox, Jimmy Thomas, Kaily Thomas, Jacob Blevins, Elijah Blevins, Ashley ( Justin) Nugent, Mallory (Hunter) Henson, Sierra Bramlett and Logan Bramlett; great great grandchildren, Haven Henson, Colton Nugent, Trevor Nugent, Paisley Nugent, Keslee Kilgore and Remi Grayson; special friend, James “Pete” Wileman; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends; grandogs, Cooper, Lilly, Cam, Henry, Kiser, Shadow and Sadie; grandcat, Bam.

Family will receive friends 4PM-8PM, CST, Friday, February 7, 2025

and 11AM-130PM, CST, Saturday at the funeral home.

Funeral Service 2PM, CST, Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Layne’s Chapel Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Shrum officiating. Interment to follow at Layne’s Chapel Cemetery.
