Ride Leader and Originator of The Trail of Tears Motorcycle Ride passed away peacefully at his home Thursday, October 26, 2023.
Born in Huntsville, AL on July 31st, 1938, to William S. and Zeda Ann Cason who preceded him in death along with his sisters, Stella Garrett and Hilda Williams.
Bill was a long time member of the Harley Owners’ Group in Chattanooga and led motorcycle toy ride for many years in support of the Marion County Sheriff’s Christmas fund for needy children. He was also a U.S. Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Paulette Rankin Cason, daughter, Bridget (Lotchia) Jones, grandson, Karsten Jones and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends from 9AM-1PM, CDT, Sunday, October 29, 2023, at Whitwell Memorial Funeral Home in Whitwell, Tennessee.
Celebration of Life 1PM, CDT, Sunday, October 29, 2023, in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, Tennessee.
Active Pallbearers will be nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be the Board of Directors of the Trail of Tears Remembrance Assn., Bobby Pollard, George Lester, Don (D.W.) Wright, and Perry White.
