Billy Joe Stephenson

Billy Joe Stephenson age 81 of Whitwell, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 10, 2022.  Mr. Stephenson was a member of the Cumberland Mountain Church of God.  He dearly loved his pastor, the pastor’s wife and his church family.  Mr. Stephenson is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph & Viola Stephenson; grandson, Logan Poe; brothers, John Stephenson, Joseph Stephenson, Jr., Tom Stephenson, Jack Stephenson; sister, Wilma Bradley; daughter-in-law, Emma Stephenson.

Those left to cherish his memories are his beloved wife of 63 years, Shirley Faye Stephenson; six children, Darrell Stephenson, DeAnndia (Larry) Long, Eddie Stephenson, Gary (Frankie) Stephenson, Billy Joe Stephenson, Jr, & John (Christy) Stephenson; brother, Harmon Stephenson; sister, Linda Stephenson Slater; grandchildren, Shonda Stephenson, Colton (Jessica) Long, B. J. Stephenson, Joshua (Miranda) Stephenson, Hunter (Keelie Poe & Brenton) Stephenson, Allison Richards and Spencer Poe; great grandchildren, Addison Hamilton, Chanley Long, Brooklynn Stephenson, Adaley Long, Cadence Hamilton, Grayden Stephenson, Clyde Hamilton, Ryan Marts, and Riley Marts; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Family will receive friends 4-8PM, Saturday, June 11, 2022.

Funeral services will be 2PM, Sunday, June 12, 2022 in the funeral home chapels with Reverends Jerry Basham, Chris Long, and Darrell Brown officiating.

Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
