Carl Richard Lawson age 87 of Chattanooga, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, Monday, August 12, 2024. He was preceded in death by his wife Lila Lee Lawson; son, James Richard Lawson; mother, Sarah Romines; father, Fred Lawson; sisters, Edith Smartt & Flora Dean Ritchie; brothers, Cecil Lawson & Elmer Lawson. Mr. Lawson was a bus driver for Hamilton County Schools for 28 years, Bus #22; Carl also did masonary and construction work; he was a member of Kelly’s Ferry Community Church and was the caretaker for the Pot Point Cabin & Tennessee River Gorge Trust Property for 48 years.
Those left to cherish his memories are two daughters, Barbara (Alan) Chance, Brittany (Tyler) Coffman; two sisters, Ruby Waller (Danny) Carlisle, Betty (Ronnie) Dennis; grandchildren, Michael (Maranda) Lawson, Ashley Lawson, Barrett Chance, Tiffany Chance, Ethan Coffman, Peyton Coffman, Renesmae Coffman; great grandchildren, Braelynn Morris, Ryder Lawson, Amarii Berley, Oaklynn Lawson, Carly Chance, Caleb Chance & Caden Chance; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Family will receive friends 1-8PM, Central time, Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at the funeral home.
11-12noon, Central time. Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Kelly’s Ferry Community Church.
Funeral services will be 12noon Central Time, Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Kelly’s Ferry Community Church with Rev. John Pratt and Rev. Jessie Plott. Interment at McNabb Cemetery, Mullins Cove Road, Whitwell, TN.
