Carl Wayne Sweeton age 82 of Whitwell passed away January 4, 2022 at his home surrounded by family. Mr. Sweeton attended Grundy County High School and Whitwell Church of God; he was retired from Signal Mountain Cement.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Flurry & Alice Mae Sweeton; brothers, Nelson (Ella Mae), Delbert Sweeton, Ed (Virginia) Sweeton, Daymond (Nancy) Sweeton; sisters, Betty (James) Rogers, Rosa Nell (Tommy) Scissom, Kathleen (Richard) Smith; sister-in-law, Ruth Sweeton.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 60 years, Barbara “Bobbie” Colston Sweeton; son, Wendell Sweeton; brother, Alton “Toe” Sweeton of Mt. Juliet; sister-in-law, Reggie Sweeton of Palmer; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Family will receive friends 11AM-2PM, Friday, January 7, 2022 at the Whitwell Church Of God 524 Morrison Spring Rd. Whitwell, TN 37397.
Funeral services will be 2PM, Friday, January 7, 2022 at the Whitwell Church of God with Rev. Jim Mulkey and Rev. Herschel Powell officiating. Interment in the Red Hill Cemetey.
