Carolyn Sue (Rankin) Layne

Carolyn Sue Rankin Layne, age 63 of Whitwell, Tennessee, was born April 7, 1962, and passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2026.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew William Layne; and her parents, Melvin Grady and Thelma Oliver Rankin.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Eric (Renaye) Layne of Whitwell; her uncles, Jerry (Cricket) Rankin and James (Trisha) Rankin; along with other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

Sue will be remembered for her kindness, love for her family, and the many lives she touched throughout her years.

Family will receive friends 4PM-8PM, CST, Thursday, February 12, 2026, and 11AM-2PM Friday, February 13, 2026.

Funeral Service 2PM, CST, Friday, February 13, 2026, in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Mt Olive Cemetery.
