DOROTHY BROWN Obituary

Dorothy Louise Dempsey Brown age 90 of Whitwell, gained her heavenly wings, on her birthday, Sunday, September 22, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvers & Pearl Dempsey; step-father, Charlie McCurry; brother, Edward Dempsey; sisters, Wilma Downum and Oma Jean Farley; sons, James David “Stovepipe” Brown, Bobby Ray Brown. Mrs. Brown was a member of Cumberland Mountain Church of God.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband of 70 years, James L. Brown; three children, Debbie Brown, Darrell (Kathy) Brown & Linda (Donald) Pickett all of Whitwell; ten grandchildren, Tim Pickett, Ray (Jan) Brown, Jimmy Brown, Mike Brown, Travis Brown, Donna Mayfield, Bobby Lee Brown, Lisa Pickett, Chris Brown & Larry Brown; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Family will receive friends 4-8PM, Monday, September 23, 2019; 10AM-8PM Tuesday, September 24, 2019.

Funeral services will be 1PM, Wednesday, September 25, 2019 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jerry Basham officiating. Interment at Red Hill Cemetery.
