Erick Franklin Young

Erick Franklin Young, age 52, of Whitwell, Tennessee, passed away on July 13, 2025. He was born on December 18, 1972, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Erick was a devoted member of Christian Worship Center and a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend who touched many lives with his kindness, faith, and unwavering love for his family.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Patsy Tate Young; his father, Orivelle Franklin Young; his sister, Lisa Gitgood; and his grandmother, Ruby Lee Tate.

Erick is survived by his loving wife, Whitney Young of Whitwell; and his cherished children, Ashlyn (Sam) Hudson of Dunlap, Natalie Young of Whitwell, Morgan Young of Dunlap, and Holland Young of Dunlap. He was the proud and adoring grandfather of Finnley Gibbons and Loralei Young.

He also leaves behind his siblings, Edward Gitgood, Sandy Gitgood, and Amber Young; his sister-in-law, Laci Dodson; his niece, Blakelynn Dodson; and his beloved pet companion, Knox.

Erick will be remembered for his deep faith, generous heart, and the love he poured into every role he held in life. Whether as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, or friend, he made an impact that will not be forgotten. His gentle spirit and genuine smile will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Family will receive friends 11AM-8PM, CST, Tuesday, July 15, 2025, and 10AM-2PM, CST, Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Christian Worship Center at 208 East Spring Street Whitwell, TN.

Funeral Service 2PM, Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Christian Worship Center with Pastor Allen Griffith and Asst Pastor Chase Griffith. Interment to follow at Red Hill Cemetery in Whitwell.
