Herman “Whick” Henry age 94 of Signal Mountain, TN passed away Sunday, November 28, 2021. Mr. Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Sue Caldwell; son, Nicky Herman Henry; parents, Oscar & Mollie Henry; brother, Howard Henry; sister, Myrtle Brown. Mr. Henry served in the United States Navy on the USS Essex aircraft carrier in the Pacific theater during WWII. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and retired from Portland Cement Plant as a welder. He was also a Masonic Lodge member for fifty years and an avid hunter and fisherman.
Those left to cherish his memories are his children, Herschel Eugene Henry of Signal Mtn., William Frances (Ann) Barber of Palatka, Florida; sister, Polly (Gene) Hatfield; grandchildren, Billy Barber, Jason Barber, Molly (Shannon) Dawson, Virginia (Tim) Waters, Elizabeth (Travis) Brown; great grandchildren, Hailey, Avery, Logan, Steven, Norah, Aiden, Mason & Kailey; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Family will receive friends 3-8PM, Tuesday, November 30, 2021 and 10-12noon, Wednesday, December 1, 2021.
Funeral services 12noon Wednesday, December 1, 2021 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Roy Terry officiating. Interment at Whitwell Memorial Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard.
