JOAN ANN (CURTIN) MABE

Joan Ann Curtin Mabe, age 69, of Whitwell, Tennessee passed away on December 14, 2022. Joan was born on February 17, 1953, to her loving parents Jerome Curtin and Margaret Stella (Bryan) Curtin. Throughout the years, she worked at several local companies until an illness forced her to retire in October of 2013. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt. Although, she got her greatest enjoyment from spending time with her family and friends, she enjoyed the peacefulness of a beautiful sunrise, doing puzzle books, watching her favorite westerns and nostalgic shows, cooking, and tending to her many animals over the years. 
Joan is preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Jackie Wayne Mabe; parents: Jerome and Margaret Curtin; her twin sister: Jean Lewandowski; sisters: Rosemarie Lawson, Roberta Green, Ellen Holt, Elaine Webb, and Violet "Muriel" Tucker; brothers: Francis Curtin, Andrew B. Curtin and Clyde Curtin. 
Joan is survived by her children: Michele (Jason) Holt, Angela (Robert) Nunley, and Jackie (Georgia) Mabe; grandchildren: Johnathan (Kelsey) Layne, Misty (Stephen) Nunley, Chelsey Floyd, Jacqueline Mabe, Jordan Mabe, Jackie Mabe, III, Breeley Mabe, Danielle Umbreit, Railey Holt and Natalie Holt; great-grandchildren: Brayden, Reagan, Wylder, and Irenia; siblings: Jerome A. Curtin of Upper Marlboro, MD and Barbara Baboolal of North Beach, MD; dear friend: Dee Watson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, additional family and friends. 
Honorary pallbearers include: Paul Levan, Jr., Danny Mabe, Michael Greene, Stephen Nunley, Cameron Cash, and Mason Mabe.
Family will receive friends 4-8PM, Saturday, December 17, 2022.
Funeral services will be at 2PM, Sunday, December 18, 2022 in the funeral home chapel.  Interment at Griffith Creek Cemetery.
