KATHIE MAE MEARS

Kathie Mae Mears, age 80, of Whitwell, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June, 10 2023.  She attended Griffith Creek Congregational Methodist Church.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Alberta Griffith, brothers, Randy Dean, Grady Lester, and Danny Lee Griffith; sister, Carolyn Sue French.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband of 62 years, Jim Mears; children, Gail (Bernard) Higgins, Craig (Jamie) Mears, Stacy (Terry) Taylor;  Six grandchildren, Candice (Colton) Holloway, Cassie (Chase) Steele, Emily (Carlton) Terry, Mitchell (Taylar) Mears, Terry Taylor, Jr. and Callie (Seth) Cox; Seven great grandchildren, Hayden and Hayston Holloway, Cason and Claire Steele, Owen Terry, Josie Mears, Landon Taylor; brother, Don (Sybol) Griffith; sisters, Iva (Pete) Grimes, Donna (Jim) Griffith-Miller; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

First and foremost, she loved her Lord and Savior and had served him since childhood.  She was a faithful member of Griffith Creek Congregational Methodist Church where she served for many years as the Ladies Bible Class teacher and Pianist.

She was a loving wife, mother, nana, sister, aunt, and friend.  She served her church and her community in many capacities.

She will be greatly missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brother, sisters, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Family will receive friends 3PM-8PM, CDT, Monday, June 12, 2023, at the funeral home.                                     

Funeral Service 2PM, Tuesday, June 13, 2023, in the chapel of Griffith Creek Congregational Methodist Church with Reverends Mitchell Mears and Joe Sanders officiating.  Interment will follow in the Griffith Creek Cemetery.
