Manuel "Poug" Kilgore

Manuel “Poug” Kilgore, 83, of Whitwell, passed away, Thursday, October 6, 2022. He was born March 3, 1939.

He was a member of Cumberland Mountain Church of God.  He loved his pastor Reverend Jerry (Vet) Basham and all the church people.  He loved the Lord and was ready to go.  “The Lord is my Shepherd that is all I need is the Lord.” 

He was preceded in death by his parents Houston and Georgia Kilgore; brothers, Malcolm, Jackie, Freddie and Donald Kilgore.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 63 years, Louise “Oodie” Floyd Kilgore and a special puppy, “Toby”; one son, Butch Kilgore of Rossville; brother Benny (Stella) Kilgore of Palmer; sister, Diane Layne of Whitwell; grandchildren, Natasha Worley of Palmer, Jeremy & Tonya Kilgore of Chickamauga, GA, and Johnny Lockhart of Rossville; great grandchildren, Rylee Worley of Palmer, Jase Kilgore, Keaton Lockhart, Tucker and Tyler all of Chickamauga, GA.

Graveside services will be 2PM, Saturday, October 8, 2022, with Rev. Jerry Basham officiating. Interment at Griffith Creek Community Cemetery.

Pallbearers; Benny Kilgore, Bill Floyd, Donnie Bird, Tommy Layne, Drew Layne, Johnny Lockhart, Trey Kelly, and Jeremy Kilgore.
