Orvil " OP " Long

Orvil “O.P.” Long, age 86, of Sequatchie, Tennessee, passed away on October 2, 2025. O.P. was born on May 12, 1939, in Whitwell, Tennessee, to Clarence and Pearlie Long.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elva Jean Long; his parents, Clarence and Pearlie Long; and siblings, Norman Long, Ruth Basham, Carl Long, Lillie Cousins, Velma Slatton, and Houston Long.

O.P. is survived by his loving children, Donna Ansel, Debbie Marty, and Greg Long; sister, Willie Mae Rollins, all of Texas; and his cherished grandchildren, Brandy (Daniel) Cox, Monica (Andrew) Hofman, Deanda (Lynn) Langston, Tabitha (Bryan) Marty, Shonna (Justin Smith) Marty, Miranda Franz, Gabriel (Brandi Wolf) Long, and Kayla Long. He also leaves behind a large and loving group of great-grandchildren: Colton Ansel, Jaydon Arceneaux, Slade Cox, Trenton Cox, Purity Hofman, Myla Hofman, Ryder Hofman, Avi Hofman, Danika Marty, Jaylynn Youngblood, Cambrie Long, Laytin Long, Channer Long, and Copeland Long.

O.P. will be remembered for his kind heart, strong work ethic, and deep love for his family. His life was filled with laughter, hard work, and devotion to those he cared about most. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

His family will receive friends, 4PM-8PM, CST, Thursday, October 9, 2025, and 10AM-12PM, CST, Friday, October 10, 2025.

Funeral Service 12PM, CST, Friday, October 10, 2025, in the funeral home chapel.

Interment to follow at Mt Olive Cemetery.
