Patsy Sue Layne

Patsy Sue Layne, age 78, of Whitwell, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025. She was born on May 5, 1947, in Whitwell, where she spent her life surrounded by the love of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvis and Alice Griffith; her beloved husband, Don Layne; her son, Jimmy Don “Fred” Layne; her daughter, Rebecca Layne Slatton; and several siblings; she was raised by, Barney and Callie Nunley.

Patsy is survived by her daughters, Donna K. Kilgore and Jane (Michael) Waters; grandchildren, Michael “Pnut” Waters, Ashley Grayson, Nikki Fazioli, Shawn Kilgore, Ethan Slatton, and Colton Slatton; great grandchildren, Logan Grayson, Landon Grayson, Mason Waters and Lakota Slatton; special family member, Braxton Carter.

Patsy will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and deep love for her family. Her life was a reflection of strength, faith, and compassion. She was a source of comfort and warmth to all who knew her, and her memory will forever be cherished.

Family will receive friends 2PM-8PM, CST, Sunday, June 15, 2025, and 11AM-2PM, CST, Monday, June 16, 2025.

Funeral Service 2PM, CST, Monday, June 16, 2025, in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Griffith Creek Cemetery.
