Roy Herron Obituary

Roy Mitchell Herron, age 93, of Whitwell won his battle with cancer, Thursday, July 30, 2020. Mr. Herron is an Army WWII Veteran. He was a retiree of Joslyn Manufacturing and TDOT. He also attended South Whitwell Baptist Church. He is preceded by his sons, Paul Mitchell and Roy Dale Herron; grandson, Tim Baranski and parents, William and Alma Brunner Herron.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 62 years, Virginia Pearl Brown Herron; children, Virginia (Joey) Layne, John (Deb) Herron all of Whitwell, Jeanette (Frank) Phillips of Las Vegas, NV, Phyllis (Jeffrey) Baranski of Lockport, IL and Sandra (Stan) Rathmell of Washington, IA; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 5 great great-grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Graveside services will be 11AM, Saturday, August 1, 2020, in the Red Hill Cemetery with Reverends Roy Terry and Danny Chance officiating.
