Shirley (Layman) Prestel

Shirley Layman Prestel, age 80, of Whitwell, passed away Friday, August 13, 2021.  She was of the Church of God faith.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Prestel, Sr.; daughter, Tina Marie Prestel; parents, John and Opal Layman; siblings, Faye Brady, Judy Layman, Arlene Gamble and Jim Layman.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Ray, Jr. (Kim) Prestel, Kimberly (Chad Rains) Hood; grandchildren, Joshua (Kirstie) Nance, Maxwell “Max” Songer, Spencer (Stephanie) Prestel and Alyson (David Lujan) Prestel; great grandchildren, Weston Nance, Hanson Nance, Ledger Prestel, Mia Kate Lujan, Brynlee Holtman and Brycen Holtman; siblings, Barbara Grayson, Delores Morgan, and Jerry (Beverly) Layman; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends 4-8PM CST, Sunday, August 15, 2021.

Funeral services will be 2PM CST, Monday, August 16, 2021, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jerry Basham officiating.

Interment will follow in the Cookston Cemetery.
