TAMMY DOWNEY Obituary

Tammy Diane Downey age 58 of Whitwell, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nora Lee Bishop of Signal Mtn., father, Leon Rice of Chattanooga; grandparents; brother, Bobby Rice of Chattanooga; granddaughter, Addy Downey of Whitwell.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband of 22 years, James Henry “Jimmy” Downey; three children, Terry Taylor, Jr and Amanda (Jose) Cornejo both of Knoxville, James (Tiffany) Downey of Whitwell; loved as a daughter, Tabby Hatfield of Whitwell; siblings, David Rice of Rossville, Misty (Randy) Posey of Dayton; grandchildren, Landon Taylor, Brooklyn Newton, Aiden Downey; mother-in-law, Christine Vaughn; aunts, uncles and a host of friends.

Family will receive friends1-8PM, Saturday, February 26, 2022 and 10AM-2PM, Sunday, February 27, 2022 with the funeral service to follow at 2PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. John O’Neal and Josh Holtcamp officiating. Interment at Whitwell Memorial Cemetery.
