Teresa Henry Gothard of Whitwell passed away peacefully holding the hand of her husband of 46 years on Tuesday, November 15th at age of 70.  Teresa was a proud and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.  Teresa’s greatest love in the world was her husband and family.  During her battle, she remained strong, determined, and positive.  Through her example, she truly showed us what resilience and perseverance look like.  Just because she is no longer here with us physically, her spirit and memory will live on.  While Teresa’s family grieves her loss, they are choosing to remember Teresa in a way that honors her powerful spirit.

Teresa is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Anna Mae Terry Henry; siblings, Terry Henry, and Lisa Henry; brother-in-law, Elijah Barnett.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Dexter Gothard; children, Allison (Larry) Richards and Bryon “T.H.” (Brandy) Gothard; grandchildren, Ryan Marts, Riley Marts, Bailey Gothard, Brooks Gothard, and Heather Rankin; three great grandchildren, Bronxton, Bexley, and Bennett; siblings, Phyllis Barnett, Michael Henry, Kathy (John) Rewcastle and Janine Henry; Randy Marts; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Family will receive friends 2-8PM, Friday, November 18, 2022.

Funeral services will be 2PM, Saturday, November 19, 2022 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Roy Terry officiating.  Interment in the Whitwell Memorial Cemetery.
