WILLENE HATFIELD BASHAM

Willene Hatfield Basham died peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, November 14. She was 85 years old. She was a member of the Cumberland Mtn Church of God where she loved to sing and cook with other members for the community. She is preceded by her husband of 44 years, John Harley Basham.  Her son, Col. Jeff Basham; grandchildren, Shawn Basham, Shannon Basham, Byron Basham; great-grandchildren, Alexander Paul Hatfield, and Beau Oliver Gilliam; parents, Paul and Rosa Hatfield, and siblings, Willis “Steve” Hatfield, Juanita “Bit”Rogers, and Wanda “Peanut” Layne.

Willene was known for loving on her children and grandchildren with food, sweets, and her fun sense of humor. Those who survive her will miss the laughs and calories dearly. They are as follows:

Wilma Sitz of Deary, Idaho; Carol Green, Whitwell; Randy (Kat) Hatfield, Baxter, TN; Nancy (Ben) May, Jasper,TN.  
Her children: 
Stanley (Janice) Hatfield of Ringgold, Georgia;Johnny (Beverly)Basham,  Donnie (Yvonne) Bird, Jerry (Yvette) Basham, all of Whitwell. 
Inez Basham (daughter-in-law) Butler, Alabama; Jim (Vickie) Basham,  Chattanooga; Rosetta (Zoran) Lazic, Toronto, Canada;
Grandchildren:
Michelle Leigh, Kevin Hatfield, Danny Durham, Lee Basham, Skyler Hagan, Erin Gilliam, Callie Haskins, Stephen Bird, Todd Basham, Teven Sharp, Heath Kirkendoll, Heather Vale, and Candace Lazic
And 34 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.
The family would also like to thank Barb Nunley for the last 3 years of friendship and care. 

Visitation will be at Whitwell Memorial on Tuesday, Nov 15, 4-8pm CST; Wednesday, Nov 16, 11am-1pm CST.

Funeral will be at Cumberland Mtn. Church with Rev. Dwight Henderson,
Rev. Jerry Basham and Rev. Jim Basham officiating. Burial will be in Mt Olive Cemetery on Wednesday, Nov 16, 2pm CST
