WILLIAM SARTIN Obituary

William Ralph Sartin passed away on August 28, 2025.  He was born on May 20, 1933 in Pisgah, Alabama to Shadrick Ray Sartin and Eula Mae Sartin.  He and his beloved wife, Marjorie (Margie) Joyce Sartin were united in marriage on June 13, 1953.

Ralph is preceded in death by his loving wife Margie; parents, Ray and Eula Mae Sartin; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Luther and Lavada Kirkendoll; son, Glen Douglas Sartin; grandson, Nathan Sartin; son-in-law Phil Davison; sisters, Brenda Webb and Connie Layne.

Those left who will always hold dear their memories of him include, sons, Eddie (Sheila) Sartin, Terry (Donna) Sartin; daughters, Marva Davison, Lecia Crawley, Gayla McHone; daughter-in-law, Cindy Sartin; brothers, Denver (Linda) Sartin, Donnie (Sandy) Sartin; sisters, Betty Kirkendoll, Francis (Shelly) Everette, Sybil (Ronnie) Lewis; aunt, Eula Mae Moore; nineteen grandchildren; forty-one great grandchildren; many nephews, nieces, cousins and an army of friends.

Ralph worked from the cotton and sorghum fields of Sand Mountain to the dairy farms of Tennessee, to the factories of Chattanooga.  His strong work ethic was evident to all.  He was still doing some yardwork this year at 92 years of age.  He liked to fish and was a “ginseng” digger for many decades, until he could no longer climb the mountains.

Ralph loved his wife and entire family with a strong passion. Most importantly, he loved God and is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  His was a life of hard work and sacrifice for his family.  At 5:00 am August 28th, he began his eternity with the Lord, who made the supreme sacrifice for Daddy and  us all.

He will be buried in Griffith Creek Cemetery, across from Griffith Creek Methodist Church of which he was a member.

His grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to thank the physicians at Memorial Hospital and the staff at NHC in Dunlap for their excellent care of our Dad.  Thanks to all who have shown kindness and love to our family.

The family will receive friends from 2-8PM, Saturday, August 30, 2025; and 12-2:30PM Sunday, August 31, 2025.
